A bit about Poodle hybrids

At Adelaide Doodles we believe Doodles of all kinds make great family pets. They are intelligent, friendly, cheeky, and outgoing. In general Doodles shed less, and are less prone to genetic diseases than their pure-breed counter parts. Both Jess and Tara are up to date with their vet checks, have been DNA tested for genetic diseases, and have well rounded personalities.

'Doodle' is a expression that refers to poodle designer hybrids. They are family friendly fur-balls! Doodles come in many shapes and sizes depending on which breed is mixed with poodle, and what size poodle is used. Some common poodle hybrids are listed below. Originally bred to be an allergy free pet, doodles shed less than most other dogs, some are even hypoallergenic.

All Doodle breeds inherit some characteristics from their Poodle parents. Poodles are intelligent, lively, alert dogs that are very people oriented. Poodles have a dignified spring in their step, and dense curly coats. Poodles come in three sizes: Standard, miniature, and toy.

At Adelaide Doodles we breed high quality Labradoodles and Borderdoodles (AKA Bordoodles). However our dogs are first and foremost part of our family. We do not breed a large numbers of pups.

Labradoodle

(Labrador x Poodle Hybrid) possibly the most popular doodle hybrid. Labradoodles mix the boisterous happy intelligence of Labradors, with the gentle sensitive intelligence of Poodles. Labradoodles are happy go lucky dogs with a shaggy appearance and either curly, fluffy or wiry coats.  Labradoodles come in various colours and a range of sizes. We produce high quality labradoodles in low quantities. To find out more take a look at our Puppies! page, or follow us on Facebook.

These are not all our puppies or photos. They are just to give you an idea of the cuteness of Labradoodles

Borderdoodle

(Border collie x Poodle hybrid) also known as a Bordoodle are becoming more popular in Australia. Crossing the most intelligent dog breed with the second most intelligent dog breed creates, you guessed it, a very intelligent doodle. Border collies are very active athletic dogs. Borderdoodles, though less active, are still balls of energy, and love having something to do. They are cheeky, affectionate, and very loyal. Borderdoodles come in a variety of colours and coats. Typical bicoloured Border Collie colours occur in Borderdoodles, as do tri, solid and patchy colours. Eyes can be dark brown, light brown blue, or a mix of blue and brown. Borderdoodles can have curly, fluffy or wiry coats- most shed little. We produce high quality Borderdoodles in low quantities. To find out more take a look at our Puppies! page, or follow us on Facebook.
